I am an upcoming senior, and I have a deep passion for teaching and helping (many, many hours of free tutoring) others understand things that took me literally eons to understand. And I love teaching in a very interactive, teen-relatable way, which many of those who I tutor say helps them comprehend the material.
I took a course this summer at a top-uni (I already know these programs don't help my app, lol), and I did well in this class (got an A). I loved the material, and it steered me dramatically toward the major I desire to eventually take. Additionally, I liked the way in which my teacher taught. When I needed clarification on any topics my professor taught, however, I never found any videos on YouTube that explained well the topics, which was very surprising considering it was an intro class that anyone in that major would learn. Because I love teaching and love the material, I want to make videos of myself explaining these topics in a KhanAcademy-esque way (i.e. using a whiteboard and drawing ideas).
Is it a good idea if I can make quality videos teaching this material? It's something that I think all day about producing once I get back home.
