USC Bovard Scholars
Has anyone heard of or been apart of the USC Bovard Scholars Program? It seems like a great opportunity but I can't find any information on how difficult is to be accepted, and I'd also love to hear about past experiences. Thanks! (Not sure if this is the right forum, but it has a three-week summer program aspect? Wasn't sure where else to post)

as for me, I've read the previous discussions pretty extensively, mostly out of procrastination, and the camp seems to be an incredible experience (past attendees, I'd love your input). I don't have a successful business (or a business at all), and I don't have much of a chance of getting in, but I'm really interested, so I figured I'd give it a shot anyways.

New Jersey Scholars Program 2018
Hey guys I was wondering if anyone from the past could shine some light on what kind of extracurriculars are needed to get into the semifinals for this program. Also, does GPA weigh more than the personal essays or is it the other way around? My counselor just gave me the form to fill out and I just want some more information about the program.

URGENT: Help needed for summer!
Hi,
I applied to a few summer programs, but was not admitted into any of them - even my safety program. I was wondering what possible options I have to get something lined up for the summer. I've been sending out emails to professors at Stanford to see if I can work in a lab (I live nearby the school), but haven't gotten anything yet. I've also sent out multiple emails to startups, but haven't found anything either.
I have been thinking about college classes over the summer. Are there any other options? Something I haven't taken a look at yet?
FYI, I am interested in chemical engineering and am a junior in high school. I really want to take advantage of this summer as I think it's going to be the most important one of my high school years. I'm really interested in doing research, in some form or another.
**Another thing, does anyone know about the Pioneer Academics program? Is it known as a prestigious program? It seems interesting, but I'd rather do something more hands on personally.

Love how this is an opportunity open to students from Canada as well. Unfortunately, was rejected last year, but am giving the application process another try. Anyone else in the same boat and/or considering this "summer program"? Advice would be much appreciated!

TASS 2018
TASS applications are supposed to open up in October and i really want to apply! I know it's kind of early but the application is supposed pretty long so I'd love any advice from TASS alumni. And does anyone know the acceptance rate is or how many people are expected to apply? And if this thread keeps going until october... what do you guys think of the application? It sounds like an amazing program and I really want to go but I'm scared of the application essays

My son was just accepted yesterday for the summer of 2018. He is very excited and I was looking for input from others who may have gone before to give him a heads up as to what to expect.

Microsoft High School Internship 2018
I couldn't find a thread for the Microsoft High School Internship for this year, so making one to discuss.
The program seems to be under a lot of change this year. First, they added the 6-week Minecraft camp, but there's no details anywhere. Then, they changed the application deadline to 3/31. (This is good, since students got all of their college decisions back by then.) Now, the decisions were supposed to be out by 4/6, but delayed to 4/13, then delayed again to 4/20. Interviews and final decisions are pushed out to May. This is not good, since students need to make plans for college early start classes and other summer activities. Waiting till end of May is really bad.
Anyone has insights on what's going on?

When to start looking for pre-med internships?
I am a freshman in pre-med and have been hearing a lot about internships and how important they are for getting into med school. Should I be looking for an internship now or wait a year or two?
Also, I have heard that working as a medical scribe (through Scribe America) is good way to go, but I am concerned about how much time it will require during the school year. I would appreciate anyone's thoughts/ experience they can lend me. : )

How to afford summer programs??
Hey everyone!
I've been accepted into a language abroad summer program as well as a pre-college program at a university. I've applied to financial aid for both, however it is not enough for my family to pay the rest. I was wondering what are some ways to fund these programs? Are there any organizations/groups that help pay for academic summer program? I really want to do both of these programs, however the cost of them are deterring me from going.
