Economics for Leaders??
I just got accepted into this summer program and Brown. I'm super excited, but really nervous. I didn't think I would actually get into my top choice, but surprisingly I did. I'm a little uneasy because I'm from Nebraska and I'm worried everyone at the Brown location will be from that area. Will there be people from all over? And one last thing, is the program very selective? I was definitely surprised to get accepted into my first choice. Thanks:)

Carnegie Mellon Summer Programs for Diversity
Has anybody ever been to one of these? I'd like to know how it is, how hard it is to make, the coursework, recreation, etc, etc.
I'm seriously considering the design one, especially since (all of them) are free. I'd love to spend a summer doing design stuff, and my parents can't/won't pay thousands to spend on some random college program.
Yet it seems too good to be true - is there some catch that I simply haven't seen?

How easy is it to get into the Girls Who Code summer immersion program?
I applied just now, nervous because I live in a very academically competitive area. Is it unreasonable to start planning my summer around this? I've done robotics and girl scoyts for a while, think my writing thing was pretty good (not like this lol), don't remember if they asked for GPA etc but its close to 3.95. Currently a sophomore, haven't taken APCS or any formal CS.
Should I apply to a backup?

Should I bother trying to apply to the Columbia College Credit program?
OK, so a little bit of background on me: I am a high school junior in NYC who is very interested in mathematics. I participated in the AMC and got into the AIME, I scored 800 on the PSAT last year, I go to a Math Circle program at NYU on weekends, and I get mid-90s in my Honors Precalc class. I'm interested in applying for a Columbia College Credit course, specifically their requirements for a minimum 3.3 GPA.
I think I might be able to get a recommendation letter in time, my physics teacher has said in the past she's willing to recommend me for college. Hopefully she'll agree to write me one, given the deadline is in 1.5 weeks... My college counselor is also friendly, I talk with him often, and I think he'll agree to write a letter too. I'm not sure whether it's worth stressing them out about it, though.
